BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

BUYER BEWARE. On 2/12 we ordered 8, 3LB LIVE lobsters to be delivered on Valentines Day totaling over $500. The order arrived late. All the lobsters were 2 pounds and 4 arrived dead. Because of this, we had to cancel our dinner plans with clients. Upon contacting the company, the customer service was lackluster. We were transferred to a supervisor (Randal). He refused to refund our order, instead, would give us the credit amount for the "difference in weight". He also said that "our lobsters are not guaranteed to arrive Alive". We were shocked when he said this being that this company thrives on marketing their lobsters "LIVE"! We ended up speaking to a "Mitch" from marketing that apologized and credited our account. He made us feel better and said this wouldn't happen again.
On 3/5 we decided to give the company another chance and order 4LB of "SUPER colossal crab" totaling over $300. To our dismay, our order once again arrived wrong! We received 3 crab legs totaling 2 pounds. We had to once again cancel our dinner plans due to the shortage. On Monday we called into the call center and spoke to (Ethan). He couldn't help us, instead, said that he would have a manager "Christine" call us back and HUNG UP on us.
Christine called us back, apologized and said there was challenges at there warehouse regarding "quality control". She asked that I send pictures and videos showing the underweight product. She also said that because they handled our situation with a full refund the last order, they wouldn't be able to do much for us this time around. She offered to "refund us the difference in weight". What?!
At this time, we are two seafood lovers born and raised in New England super frustrated, embarrassed, upset and over all disappointed in this company. The lack of quality control, Brand Experience and Customer service is certainly something to keep in mind when dealing with MAINE LOBSTER NOW. This company has fallen short on many levels.

Had to accept delivery of rotting shellfish

FedEx failed to deliver my order as scheduled on Friday. Instead they delivered rotting lobster rolls on Monday. Maine Lobsters Now insisted that I take delivery of the reeking box in order to receive a refund. Be aware that you risk having to keep a disgusting box at your house until your next trash day if you order from them.

I'm really fit to be tied

I'm really fit to be tied. I placed an order in later July. I received a lobster tail that was greenish in color. Is it toxic? I don't know. I contacted the company, they told me to send them the order number and a color of the lobster and I did. I am still getting the run around. After numerous emails, and speaking with their staff, nobody knows what to do!! Then a woman sends me an email saying I must have had it for 3 months when it was less than a month that I contacted them. PLEASE STOP PLAYING WITH MY TIME AND MONEY!! PLEASE SOLVE THIS ISSUE! AS YOU REQUESTED, I STILL HAVE THIS TOXIC LOBSTER FROZEN AWAITING YOUR RESPONSE.

Never Again! Zero Customer Service!

Ordered live lobster and other seafood for an Anniversary dinner. Contacted customer service when it did not arrive as promised, and told that minus their additional $10 "insurance" fee, there was no refund, replacement, or credit. Website says, "Free 1-Day Shipping and No Saturday Fee/$100 min". One would think their relationship with Fedex would provide them with some leverage. Item sceduled for Friday, did arrive Monday. I wish I could post the smell of the dead lobster and defrosted seafood that went directly into the trash. Happy Anniversary from Maine Lobster Now!
Update.... 09/04/20
We just spoke after they reached out. They stated FedEx won't take responsibility for live shipments. We again expressed our frustration in paying for spoiled food, and suggested they revisit method of charging for "guarantee", as there is already a $10 box charge, and competitors have a much lower shipping guarantee fee. They agreed to revisit the policy, and re-ship the order at no charge. That is certainly fair,and all we wanted in the first place. I'm taking a leap of faith here, and in light of their reaching out and hopefully favorable resolution, will go to 4 stars. Fingers crossed!

"0" Customer Service

Truth be told I have ordered twice and the first time was flawless. The second time i ordered 6 lobsters and only 1 was alive. There was a funky smell when i opened the box and the ice had melted. It was a super hot day in AZ so i could understand this. What I couldn't understand was Maine Lobster now not replying to phone calls, emails, or web requests to speak to anyone. After 6 attempts to contact with no acknowledgement. It the order comes all alive you are great. If it comes dead don't expect them to pay attention. No customer service = no more business

I can not caution strongly enough…

I can not caution strongly enough against ordering lobsters from Maine Lobster Now. I ordered nine lobsters from them. The ordering process was simple and well designed and the price was pretty good, however, everything else was less than desirable. Nine lobsters arrived on the requested date, however, they were not packaged as described on the site with seaweed - only gel packs, bubble wrap, and cardboard. One lobster was DEAD on arrival. I called their support, talked to a representative and was told that sometimes this happens, it’s too late to do anything about it and that I should have ordered extra lobsters to account for this. Needless to say, pretty disappointed that a ‘live lobster guarantee’ actually means order extra because ‘sometimes this happens’.
I removed the dead lobster from the batch and stored the rest according to their specifications (with the exception of seaweed since they weren’t packed with any). I went to cook the lobsters four hours after they arrived, however, by this time I had one more clearly DEAD lobster and another TWO lobsters that appeared to be DEAD or almost dead as they were not moving at all but with small bubbles coming from their orifice.
I contacted their support again, described the situation, and was given a refund for a single lobster. We ordered enough lobsters for our dinner party and unfortunately, we wound up with five lobsters for nine people and a $23 refund. I’ve been hosting a lobster boil every year for about eleven years now and this is the first time that I’ve used this company and the first time I’ve had any dead lobsters let alone four. Their packaging seems to be inadequate and not even up to their own standards listed on the site while their customer support is useless. Again, while it might be tempting to take advantage of their free shipping, it is clearly free for a reason.

The BEST place to order fresh seafood!

I am from the Cape Cod area now living in Dallas Texas. I love Main Lobster Now! Excellent product and excellent service. When that box comes I feel like I'm back on the Cape. Thank you MLN!

Damaged not delivered too bad for you

I order seafood often from as far away as Alaska and never Have I had an issue or am I expected to buy insurance - my Oder was supposed to be free Next day shipping. I buy from this semi local company 2 states away and it’s not delivered for 2 days and then Ups claims package damaged and product was scrapped - shipper responsibility but Maine Lobster Now refuse to replace the $233 Order and instead they offer a discount for me to repurchase again what I never received! Stay away from this company!

Fixed

After a very disappointing first delivery, I am pleased to say that my order was reshipped and I am very satisfied. Mike reaches out to and promised to personally over see that my order was shipped and update me with delivery updates, he not only followed through on his promise but the lobsters I received were amazing fresh and delicious. Thank you for going out of your way to rectify the situation.

Absolutely fantastic!

Absolutely fantastic!
I did not get short changed on the size of the 2lbs lobsters . The claws were huge and the meat was delicious. We enjoyed the steamers very much. They came very sandy, but rinsed them extremely long under cold water. Then let them sit in clean water with a cup of white vinegar for 5 minutes. Rinsed and repeated this time with beer.
Then rinse, clean water and boil.
No sand and delicious.
Great food great prices.
THANK YOU.
It was our 17th anniversary dinner.

Better than expected

We recieved our order of 4 live lobsters exactly when I wanted them. They were all lively and at my door 16 hours after they were shipped. I had never prepared live lobsters before but with the simple step by step instructions, we had fresh lobster in my home that was as good as picking a lobster from a tank at an upscale seafood restaurant. Thank you for providing service above what you promised and what we expected!
